Meg Lustig has art in her genes. Born in Michigan,
raised in New York State, she majored in art at the University of Denver and
Syracuse University.
But she spent summers in Rockport, MA, where her Grandfather, Max Kuehne,
an American impressionist, guilder and sculptor, had his studio. Her father,
curator at the West Point Museum, followed in Kuehne's footsteps, designing
and building guilded furniture and sculpting custom pieces - usually exotic
animals. Meg's mother was an illustrator and watercolorist.
Meg has been creating her one-of-a-kind jewelry for many years. Surrounded
by working artists from birth, it's natural that Meg's work has a timeless,
classic quality.
But her flameworked jewelry is also full of energy and power, perhaps
reflecting Meg's other passion - competitive alpine skiing. She has won gold
medals in her class at the National level for Slalom and Giant Slalom and is
also competitive in Super-G. |
